Catherine Baartz

Catherine has extensive experience in training and development in the international hotels and higher education sectors both as facilitator and designer of content.

Having started her career in the hotel industry as a reservationist she then moved into the training arena and developed modules and performance metrics for the Asia Pacific reservation call centres for The Leading Hotels of the World.   She worked with the Executive team to ensure they place purpose and people at the heart of their service delivery.

Her role was then expanded to training member hotels in the Asia-Pacific region which including supporting over 80 hotels in the region. The Asia-Pacific region covered Australia, Asia, India, and Mauritius to Hawaii.  This enabled her to gain a wealth of experience training and working with different cultures and an awareness of cross-cultural issues.

Then as Senior Manager, Business & Distribution Performance, Asia-Pacific, Catherine was able to support hotels in the Asia-Pacific region identifying business metrics to increase performance and revenue.

Having completed her MBA in 2015, Catherine took the move to the Higher Education sector to ‘give back’ to the next generation and share her corporate work experience.  During her 7 years as an educator, she has consistently achieved teaching awards.

With a passion to help others improve their performance she completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Coaching in 2020.

As an educator Catherine noticed students struggling with making career choices and in selecting the right degree specialization.  Having also noticed a lack of career advise provided by schools, her desire to wanting to help guide students with their career choices using various assessment tools has led her to further study.  She completed the Glow Up Career Coaching Accreditation in 2020.

Catherine is now currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Education (Career Development & Counselling) with a view to becoming an accredited member of CICA (Career Industry Council of Australia).

Her coaching specialisation is in helping people turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
